Taeyeon and Davichi's Lee Hae-ri Swoon Over Contestant on 'Sing Again 4'

On the latest episode of JTBC's music show 'Sing Again: Unknown Singer Season 4,' aired on the 21st, top vocalists from various fields competed in intense group survival rounds. Among the performers in the 'OST Group' were the 22nd contestant, a 34-year veteran singer, and the 28th contestant, known for the OST of 'Sang Doo! Let's Go to School.'

The 22nd contestant surprised everyone by revealing himself as the composer of Kim Kyung-ho's 'Forbidden Love' and a lead in a drama with a 56% viewership rating. He shared his past struggles with jealousy from fellow singers and personal hardships that led him to shift to composing and arranging without releasing a debut album. Despite his challenges, he expressed a renewed desire to pursue music, having gained recognition through the drama 'Jealousy' OST. However, his performance was put on hold with four 'Again' votes.

The 28th contestant introduced himself as an 'accidental ballad singer,' having debuted in a dance group and initially pursued a solo career with dance tracks. He explained that an OST director favored his voice, leading to his unexpected transition to ballads. MC Lee Seung-gi noted his current semi-retirement, to which the contestant admitted facing reality and fading popularity, but maintained his love for singing and performing. He expressed happiness at being on stage again.

Performing 'My Love' from the 'Sang Doo! Let's Go to School' OST, the 28th contestant received an 'All Again' vote. Code Kunst praised the performance, recalling the drama as the last he completed and the song as one of the few non-hip-hop/R&B tracks he memorized entirely. Kyuhyun shared his admiration, noting the song's deeper impact live compared to the MP3 era.

Taeyeon confessed, 'I felt thrilled listening to the song. I couldn't help but press the button.' Lee Hae-ri added, 'The 28th contestant is definitely the ear-candy of 'Sing Again 4.' His distinct and stable tone was mesmerizing, like a melody flowing through my ears. It was a heart-touching performance.' Kim Eana marveled at discovering a 'treasure in the OST,' while Im Jae-bum called it a 'reverse trend.'

The 28th contestant expressed his gratitude, saying, 'It still feels like a dream. I was happy singing, and I think that's why I achieved this result.'
