Kang Tae-poong, played by Lee Jun-ho, rises to become the second CEO amidst a crisis.
In the third episode of tvN's 'Typhoon Family', aired on the 18th, Kang Tae-poong is depicted struggling to save his company from closure.
Previously, Kang Tae-poong had thrown himself in front of a truck to prevent a delivery to Daebang Textiles, and when he couldn't find a company to rent a warehouse, he protected the fabric by unloading it in an empty parking lot and guarding it overnight.
After a full day, Pyo Bak-ho, played by Kim Sang-ho, offered to rent out his warehouse. With no other options, Kang Tae-poong accepted the offer to protect the fabric. However, the factory was hit by rain again, and although all the employees of Typhoon Trading worked together to save the fabric, unfair contract terms threatened to have it discarded. Pyo Bak-ho's employee claimed, "The products are under seizure. Typhoon Trading hasn't repaid the loan or retrieved the goods from the warehouse. It's overdue," presenting the warehouse rental contract.
The back of the contract stated, "The storage period is 72 hours from the request date," with clauses about overdue fees and disposal. Kang Tae-poong sought help from banks and lenders to repay the overdue fees but was rejected by all.
Ultimately, the employees decided to resign, with only Oh Mi-seon hesitating, saying, "Shouldn't we protect the company?" The other employees responded, "It's not the employees' job to protect the company. The company should protect its employees. I need to be able to eat, sleep, and raise a child here. I'm leaving the company I've been with for 26 years," advising Kang Tae-poong to file for closure.
At the end of the episode, Kang Tae-poong approached Oh Mi-seon, saying, "Don't go to the interview tomorrow," and handed her a business card with his name handwritten as 'CEO' Kang Tae-poong. He proposed, "I've just become the CEO. I have no money and nothing to sell, but will you become a company man?" Kim Min-ha responded with a heartfelt "Yes," moving the audience.
