Actors Im Ji-yeon (35) and Heo Nam-jun (32) are set to star in the upcoming drama 'Brave New World', scheduled to air in 2026.

SBS's new drama 'Brave New World' explores the tumultuous romance between the notorious Joseon villainess Shin Se-ri and the ruthless chaebol heir Cha Se-gye.

Im Ji-yeon will take on a dual role in 'Brave New World'. She will portray Shin Se-ri, a struggling actress in modern-day Korea who becomes possessed by the spirit of Kang Dan-shim, a legendary villainess from the Joseon era. Kang Dan-shim, known as a femme fatale who was sentenced to death, awakens in 2026 as the unknown actress Shin Se-ri.

Heo Nam-jun will play the role of Cha Se-gye, the sole heir to the powerful Cha-il Group. Known for his tyrannical ways, Cha Se-gye encounters Shin Se-ri, who appears before him dressed in traditional shaman attire, cosplaying as a Joseon-era character.

Anticipation is building for the chemistry between Im Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-jun. Both actors have previously delivered standout performances as villains, with Im Ji-yeon in 'The Glory' and Heo Nam-jun in 'Your Honor'. Fans are eager to see what kind of synergy the two will bring to their roles as extraordinary antagonists.
