Meanwhile, J.Y. Park, the head producer of JYP Entertainment, was recently appointed as the co-chair of the Presidential Committee for Popular Culture Exchange by President Lee Jae-myung.
Kang Hoon-sik, the Chief Secretary of the Presidential Office, announced on September 1st that Park would co-chair the newly established committee alongside Choi Hwi-young, the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. The committee is tasked with promoting and facilitating the global spread and exchange of Korean popular culture. Kang praised Park as a pioneer who first introduced K-pop to the American market, highlighting his suitability for enhancing the global stature of Korean pop culture.
