Actor Yeo Jin-goo, born in 1997, has announced his upcoming military enlistment through a heartfelt handwritten letter. During his ongoing Asia fan meeting tour 'Blank Space,' which commemorates his 20th anniversary in the entertainment industry, Yeo shared this news with fans by distributing personal letters.
In his letter, Yeo Jin-goo expressed, "The time is approaching for me to leave your side temporarily and embark on a new experience." He added, "Every moment of meeting your eyes and sharing smiles during this Asia tour before my enlistment will remain a precious memory for me."
He continued, "Thanks to your warm love and support, I have been able to move forward with passion and without fatigue. During our time apart, I promise to return as a stronger and more mature person, both physically and mentally, and with even deeper acting skills."
Yeo reassured fans, saying, "Don't be too sad. You have 30 dramas and 20 films to remember 'Yeo Jin-goo' by. I would appreciate it if you could rewatch them whenever you think of me. Will you wait for me? I promise to return with an even more impressive presence. I love you." While he did not disclose the exact date of his enlistment in the letter, he mentioned that he would announce it during a future fan meeting.
Yeo Jin-goo made his debut in the 2005 film 'Sad Movie' and has since built a solid acting career with roles in dramas like 'Moon Embracing the Sun,' 'The Crowned Clown,' and 'Hotel Del Luna,' as well as the film 'Hwayi: A Monster Boy.' Recently, he showcased his variety show skills in the TVING show 'Great Escape: The Story.'
In July, Yeo made headlines with his noticeably muscular physique in photos shared on social media. He was seen standing alongside former wrestler Kang Ho-dong (weighing approximately 109kg) during a promotional event for 'Great Escape: The Story,' capturing attention with his impressive physical presence.
Currently, Yeo Jin-goo is continuing his fan meeting tour across Asia, visiting cities like Jakarta, Tokyo, Osaka, and Shanghai. He is set to meet his domestic fans for the last time before enlistment on November 1st at the Sky Art Hall in Seoul.
