Kim Da-mi and Shin Ye-eun's Friendship in 'A Hundred Memories' Captivates Viewers

Interest in the friendship between Kim Da-mi and Shin Ye-eun is soaring.

JTBC's weekend drama 'A Hundred Memories' has topped the TV popularity rankings for the first week of October, as announced by Good Data Corporation's official platform, FUNdex. The show's ratings have climbed from 3.3% in its first episode to 5.8% by the eighth episode.

The love triangle in 'A Hundred Memories' is heart-wrenching. Instead of competing for love, Go Young-rae (Kim Da-mi) and Seo Jong-hee (Shin Ye-eun) chose friendship over romance, prioritizing each other's happiness. When Young-rae realized that Jong-hee also had feelings for Han Jae-pil (Heo Nam-jun), and when Jong-hee discovered that Jae-pil was the owner of the 'Giant Towel' that had excited Young-rae, both chose friendship over love.

Despite this, Young-rae is left with lingering regrets, wondering, "What if I hadn't gone there with you that day? What if I hadn't been excited by the three coincidences that might have been fate?" After breaking up with Jae-pil, Jong-hee returns to embrace Young-rae, tearfully convincing herself, "This is right." This tender and unique portrayal of relationships has deeply resonated with viewers.

The best friends who gave up their first love meet again after seven years, with Jae-pil still in the picture. After Jong-hee's disappearance, Young-rae shared more than just friendship with Jae-pil, nurturing her long-held feelings and deciding not to ignore them any longer. However, Jong-hee's return complicates her resolve, as Young-rae knows better than anyone that unresolved issues remain between Jong-hee and Jae-pil.

In a preview clip, Young-rae's poignant narration, "Among the people who pass through life, those who leave are connections, and those who stay are destiny. So, is someone who returns a connection or destiny?" has sparked various speculations. Viewers are eager to see if Young-rae and Jong-hee will openly discuss their buried emotions at their memory-filled school.

The production team stated, "Young-rae and Jong-hee reunite with their long-missed best friend and spend happy times together. However, there is an unresolved issue between them: their feelings for Jae-pil." They added, "An unexpected turning point will occur in the youth romance starting with the ninth episode. Please look forward to it."

Episode 9 of 'A Hundred Memories' airs on October 11 at 10:40 PM.
