First Divorce Decision on 'Divorce Deliberation Camp': The Story of the 'Alimony' Couple

The 'Alimony' couple has become the first to choose actual divorce on the show 'Divorce Deliberation Camp.'

On the episode aired on the 9th, JTBC's 'Divorce Deliberation Camp' featured the final mediation of Kim Dae-gi and Kim Hyo-jung, who were in the actual divorce deliberation period.

A new mediator, Lee Sung-ho, was introduced. Seo Jang-hoon described him as a former judge with 27 years of experience, known for handling the 'Molar Daddy' case, and also noted that he is the husband of actress Yoon Yoo-sun.

Lee Sung-ho expressed, "While I've handled many difficult civil and criminal cases, family cases were the toughest. The complex interests and unresolved conflicts were challenging. I hope to use my experience to help make desirable choices."

The 'Alimony' couple participated in the camp while separated during their divorce deliberation period. The wife revealed that her marriage broke down due to her father-in-law's demand for divorce, even sharing the 'five commandments' he sent.

The husband expressed regret and a desire to avoid divorce, but the wife was resolute, stating, "He seems unlikely to change significantly. I believe his father will always be in the middle. My decision has solidified over time."

As the first couple to choose divorce on the camp, they had already agreed on property division, but the husband contested, wanting money he gave to his wife returned.

The wife's lawyer, Yang Na-rae, countered, "There is not a single cent to return. It seems the husband included debts from cryptocurrency investments, which were not agreed upon as joint marital assets."

With both sides at an impasse, Judge Lee Sung-ho suggested, "Leave the property division as is and adjust the alimony," considering there was no legal obligation for alimony related to the in-laws.

Ultimately, the wife agreed to return 10 million won in alimony to the husband. With her firm decision, the couple finalized their divorce. The wife commented, "It's petty to keep talking about money. I've lost all affection." The husband expressed dissatisfaction in an interview, saying, "Honestly, I'm not satisfied."

After the mediation, the wife tearfully wished her husband well, saying, "I hope he lives well. I hope I didn't spend six years with a worthless person." The husband reflected, "Even though we're divorcing, I've learned a lot and perhaps grown." A few weeks later, the couple completed their divorce by mutual agreement.
