Shin Ye-eun's Shocking Return in 'A Hundred Memories' Unveils a 7-Year Mystery

Shin Ye-eun's unexpected return in JTBC's 'A Hundred Memories' has left viewers in shock. Her character, who disappeared after being embroiled in an irreversible incident while trying to protect her soul mate, Kim Da-mi, has returned as the only daughter of a conglomerate family, sparking curiosity about the past seven years.

In the latest episode of the JTBC weekend drama 'A Hundred Memories,' Go Yeong-rae (played by Kim Da-mi) is seen working at a salon when the chairman of Daeyang Group (played by Seo Jae-hee) and her daughter make an appearance. To everyone's surprise, the daughter is none other than Seo Jong-hee (played by Shin Ye-eun). Seven years ago, after a strike by Cheong-a Transport's attendants, a labor manager (played by Park Ji-hwan) falsely accused Yeong-rae of embezzlement and resorted to violence. In an attempt to save her friend, Jong-hee stabbed the manager in the shoulder with a pen. As the manager collapsed, bleeding, Yeong-rae urged Jong-hee to flee, leading her to run alone through the snow. Jong-hee's return, with a seemingly new identity, has left viewers questioning how she transformed so drastically.

Ahead of today's (5th) episode, released stills further deepen the mystery of Jong-hee's past seven years. The images show her pushing a cart with a blank expression while working as a hotel room cleaner, hinting at the hardships she endured. The question remains: how did she become the daughter of a group chairman? Was she led into a new life by someone, or did she choose this path herself?

Additionally, a preview for episode 8 heightens the intrigue with a scene where Jong-hee, getting her hair done by Yeong-rae, pretends not to recognize her old friend, saying, "Hello, please take care of me." Yeong-rae is later invited to what seems to be Jong-hee's affluent home, where Jong-hee asks her to "forget my past," further intensifying the mystery of Jong-hee's seven-year journey.

The production team stated, "Even with just the released stills and preview, many interpretations are emerging. Please watch to see what past stories Jong-hee will reveal after her seven-year absence and how her unexpected reunion with Yeong-rae will shape their youthful narrative." Episode 8 of 'A Hundred Memories' airs tonight (5th) at 10:30 PM on JTBC.
