Recently, Shuhua shared several photos on her social media with the caption "日 상." The images mostly show her during breaks from her schedule. However, the last photo caught attention due to a hand with a '1849' tattoo and red nail polish grilling meat, which fans speculated belonged to Soojin.
Although the person's face is not visible, fans believe it to be Soojin, as she has a matching tattoo on her right hand. Shuhua and Soojin were known for their close friendship during their time in (G)I-DLE.
Soojin debuted with (G)I-DLE in 2018 but halted activities in 2021 amid school bullying allegations. Despite denying the claims, actress Seo Shin-ae identified herself as a victim, leading to intense criticism. Soojin eventually left the group five months later and terminated her contract with the agency.
In June 2023, Soojin announced her return by opening a personal account. She resumed her career as a solo artist in November of the same year, releasing her first single 'BADITUDE' on October 27. She is currently continuing her music activities.
Given this background, Shuhua's photo has been deemed inappropriate by some, with comments such as "Did she really need to make it obvious?", "Seems like she doesn't care about the bullying controversy," and "It's one thing to meet, but another to make it public." Critics also questioned if Shuhua considered the victims.
Conversely, some defended Shuhua, arguing, "It's not like she posted a picture of them together," "There's no reason for Shuhua to be criticized," and "It's been years since the departure, viewing it as bullying support is excessive." Others suggested, "It might not be a recent photo," and "It could just be a casual photo."
However, some voices expressed, "It's not about ending their friendship, just don't make it public," and "Was it necessary to make it obvious?" Others found it disappointing, suggesting it seemed like flaunting a friendship despite the circumstances of Soojin's departure.
