On the 25th, Park Ji-hyun, who stars in the Netflix series 'You and Everything Else,' was interviewed at a café in Samcheong-dong, Seoul. The series portrays the lives of Eun-jung (played by Kim Go-eun) and Sang-yeon, who are both best friends and rivals. Park Ji-hyun plays the role of Cheon Sang-yeon.
In 'You and Everything Else,' Park Ji-hyun's character ends her life through assisted dying. She commented, "I never felt the need to think deeply and seriously about death before, but after completing this project, I have come to think deeply about what death means."
Park Ji-hyun added, "I realized that living well is about preparing to die well. In the past, I viewed death as something scary and fearful, but now I ask myself, 'Death is a process all humans must go through, so how should I live to face it well?'"
When asked if she felt any burden regarding the subject of assisted dying, Park Ji-hyun replied, "I didn't feel burdened, but I thought it was important to study a lot." She explained, "I considered that viewers who have had similar experiences might feel uncomfortable. So, I studied harder. While portraying Sang-yeon, I thought it might be rational to at least provide the opportunity to choose death."
'You and Everything Else' was released in its entirety, with all 15 episodes available on Netflix since the 12th.
