On the 24th, the Yangpyeong Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced that Lee Jin-ho is under investigation without detention for violating traffic laws.
Lee is accused of driving under the influence in the early hours from Incheon to Yangpyeong.
His blood alcohol concentration was measured at 0.11%, which is above the legal limit for license revocation. The police conducted a blood test at Lee's request.
His agency, SM C&C, released a statement confirming, "After checking with him, he admitted to driving under the influence early this morning. He has completed the investigation requested by the local police and is awaiting the outcome."
The agency added, "Lee Jin-ho acknowledges his wrongdoing without any excuses and is deeply reflecting on his actions. The agency also feels responsible and will ensure that Lee complies with the legal proceedings and any penalties. We sincerely apologize for causing concern."
Last October, Lee Jin-ho confessed to illegal gambling charges and was forwarded to the prosecution in April. The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office requested further investigation, sending the case back to the police. It was revealed that BTS member Jimin lent him 100 million won, and comedian Lee Soo-geun was also affected.
