Actor Gong Myung is consistently engaging in philanthropic activities.
As an ambassador for the international relief and development NGO World Vision, Gong Myung has been actively involved in various initiatives. In celebration of Chuseok, he has once again demonstrated his commitment to giving back. On the 16th, World Vision announced that Gong Myung donated 50 million KRW to support gifts for children in care facilities and to fund the development of facility spaces.
At the donation ceremony held at World Vision's headquarters, Gong Myung expressed, "I joined this initiative hoping that the children can enjoy a warm Chuseok and have a safe space to relax." He added, "I will continue to strive to support those in need." World Vision also expressed gratitude for Gong Myung's ongoing interest and support.
In line with Gong Myung's wishes, the donation will be used to provide warm holiday gifts to children in care facilities and to remodel rooftop spaces into shelters where they can relax and share their hearts. Additionally, Gong Myung plans to visit the facility during the Chuseok holiday to participate in volunteer activities with the children, adding to the warmth of the occasion.
Gong Myung's philanthropic journey with World Vision began in 2024. He first connected with the organization through a campaign for youth outside of family care and was appointed as an official ambassador in May of the same year. Since then, he has continued his support through various means, including donations to commemorate his 10th anniversary as an actor, supporting water projects in Bangladesh, and providing medical expenses for young adults preparing for independence. In March 2025, he joined his agency's colleagues in a campaign to support children affected by war and recently visited Uganda in Africa to continue his volunteer work.
Gong Myung is currently captivating global audiences with his role as the mysterious transfer student 'Han Yoon-seok' in the Netflix film 'The History of Confession,' showcasing a unique emotional depth and presence that portrays the diverse aspects of youth.
