In the latest episode of tvN's weekend drama 'The Tyrant's Chef,' aired on the 14th, YoonA's character, Yeon Ji-young, faced a crisis when her ingredients were stolen.
Yeon Ji-young was competing against Ming Dynasty chefs with the theme 'Meat Dishes Never Seen Before.' Despite her initial plan to make spicy braised short ribs being thwarted by the theft, she quickly adapted by switching to 'Beef Bourguignon,' continuing her challenge with unwavering determination.
Meanwhile, the Ming Dynasty team, led by Abi-soo (played by Moon Seung-yoo), used stolen chili powder to create 'Gyejeong' and continued the competition. However, Yeon Ji-young insisted, "They must experience a meat dish they've never seen before. A taste that didn't exist in this era," and completed her dish using rice-fermented grape wine and pumpkin as substitutes.
Thanks to Yeon Ji-young's quick thinking, the first cooking battle ended in a draw. The next day, in the second competition themed 'Dishes of the Opponent's Country,' Yeon Ji-young chose Peking duck, while the Ming Dynasty team opted for lotus leaf rice.
Judge Woo Gon (played by Kim Hyung-mook), after tasting Yeon Ji-young's Peking duck with Ma sauce, expressed his amazement, saying, "I've never tasted such tender meat. It melts in the mouth like snow." Lee Heon (played by Lee Chae-min) also praised, "The Ma sauce brings three flavors bursting in the mouth simultaneously."
Both Woo Gon and Lee Heon lauded Yeon Ji-young's dish as "the best under heaven." The episode concluded with a scene hinting at the outcome of the second cooking battle, heightening anticipation for the next development.
