In response, J.Y. Park shared his thoughts on social media, stating, "Taking on a government role is quite burdensome and worrisome for someone in the entertainment industry, but I decided to accept it because K-pop is facing a unique opportunity that must be seized."
He continued, "When I went to the U.S. in 2003 to promote our artists to American record labels, and when the Wonder Girls became the first Korean group to enter the Billboard Hot 100 in 2009, my dream was the same as it is now: for K-pop to be loved worldwide." He added, "I will work hard to organize the institutional support needed and ensure that effective assistance is provided, so that future artists can have even better opportunities."
Park also expressed his commitment to helping K-pop evolve beyond just promoting Korean culture, aiming to create a platform for global understanding and exchange.
He extended his gratitude to Minister Choi Hwi-young, saying, "I ask for your advice and support as I embark on this challenging journey. I am sincerely grateful to Minister Choi for agreeing to take on this role with me, which gave me the courage to proceed."
