Federation of Korean Music Performers (FKMP) has announced that its membership has surpassed 50,000, with Red Velvet's Wendy being the milestone member.
On the 1st of the month, FKMP celebrated this achievement by welcoming Wendy as their 50,000th member. During the ceremony, Wendy received a cake adorned with the words 'Welcome Wendy' and a bouquet of flowers, capturing the moment with a commemorative photo. The event also featured a performance where Wendy broke a tiara-decorated ball-shaped cake with a small hammer.
Wendy, who is actively promoting with Red Velvet and hosting SBS PowerFM's 'Wendy's Youngstreet,' is also preparing for the release of her third mini-album, 'Cerulean Verge.' She expressed her gratitude, saying, "I am thankful for the association's efforts in protecting the rights and welfare of music performers. I am delighted to join as the 50,000th member and aim to grow as an artist who connects closely with the public."
FKMP highlighted the significant cooperation from Wendy's agency during the membership process, noting that such forward-thinking collaboration is a pivotal step towards fostering a healthy music industry environment that respects performers' rights. They hope to see similar partnerships expand in the future.
