Kim Jong-kook, a popular singer and cast member of the SBS variety show 'Running Man', surprised fans with a wedding announcement.
On the episode aired on the 31st, Kim Jong-kook shared the exciting news with his fellow cast members, saying, "I'm finally getting married. I'll live well and work hard."
Yoo Jae-suk, who was unexpectedly asked to host the wedding, expressed his affection by saying, "I'll adjust my schedule. I host with elegance."
The announcement left the cast members in shock. Ji Suk-jin humorously remarked, "If you were born in the past, you should have been an independence fighter. You kept it a secret until the last moment."
HaHa, who was previously pranked with a fake wedding announcement 13 years ago, revealed that there were signs of Kim Jong-kook's impending marriage. A year ago, when asked about having a girlfriend, Kim Jong-kook reacted defensively, and Ji Suk-jin predicted, "He's getting married." When asked to send a video message to his girlfriend, Kim Jong-kook smiled and said, "Just wait a little longer."
Yoo Jae-suk added, "Kim Jong-kook was buying a lot of keyrings for a while. He was really into cute things, showing signs." Ji Ye-eun recalled Kim Jong-kook's home, known as the 'plastic bag house', saying, "It was a house that definitely didn't have a girlfriend." Kim Jong-kook admitted, "My girlfriend doesn't like plastic bags. There was a crisis back then. After that broadcast, I almost couldn't get married. Now, I vacuum every day."
On the day of the announcement, Kim Jong-kook dressed in drag for a segment. Yoo Jae-suk offered, "You don't have to do it if you don't want to today," but Kim Jong-kook insisted, "What are you talking about? I have to work harder now," showing his commitment to his new role as a husband. During a game, he revealed, "I like stability. I don't invest; I save," drawing attention.
Details about Kim Jong-kook's non-celebrity fiancée were also shared. When HaHa asked, "Does your fiancée like working out?" Kim Jong-kook replied, "She's completely different from me. As long as she doesn't stop me from working out, it's fine." HaHa joked about a barbecue restaurant, to which Kim Jong-kook responded, "She dislikes you the most," causing laughter.
Yoo Jae-suk inquired if the wedding preparations and fiancée would be featured on 'My Little Old Boy', but Kim Jong-kook firmly stated, "No, it won't be shown. Not even on 'Gym Jong-kook'. Family is family, and work is work."
Kim Jong-kook is set to marry his non-celebrity fiancée on September 5th in a private ceremony in Seoul.
