KBS's 'Son' Lee Chan-won Returns to 'National Singing Contest' for a Special Performance After Two Years


Lee Chan-won, who proudly calls himself 'KBS's son,' is set to make a special appearance on the 'National Singing Contest' after two years.

The upcoming episode of KBS1's 'National Singing Contest,' airing on the 31st, will feature the 2130th episode from 'Dong District, Incheon.' The event will take place at the 'Dongincheon Station North Plaza Special Stage,' where 16 teams will showcase their talents and enthusiasm. Notably, this will be the last 'National Singing Contest' under the name 'Dong District, Incheon,' as the district will be renamed 'Jemulpo District' next year due to administrative reorganization.

Adding to the excitement, a lineup of exceptional guest performers will grace the stage. Ryu Ji-kwang will kick off the show with his mesmerizing voice in 'Same Person,' followed by Little Lee Sun-hee, My Jin, who will heat up the stage with 'Love Recall.' The queen of Korean pop, Jin Mi-ryeong, will perform 'I Love You,' and Jo Sung-hee will captivate the audience with 'Forgiveness.'

The highlight of the event will be Lee Chan-won, one of the top trot stars produced by 'National Singing Contest,' who will close the show. Known for his legendary four-time win on the show before his debut, Lee Chan-won returns to the stage for the first time since the '2023 Year-End Finals.' His performance of 'Beautiful Day' is expected to have the 5,000-strong audience singing along.

The 'Dong District, Incheon' episode promises a mix of laughter and emotion. From sports dance experts to popping dance participants and dance academy directors, the 'Incheon Dong District Dancing Kings' will captivate with their passionate performances. Additionally, a heartfelt video message from a participant in her 60s to her mother suffering from dementia is expected to move many to tears.

With the support of popular singers and the vibrant performances of local residents, the final 'Dong District, Incheon' episode is anticipated to fill Sunday living rooms with joy and excitement.

'National Singing Contest' airs every Sunday at 12:10 PM.
