This August, broadcaster Hong Jin-kyung and singer Lyn & Lee Soo also ended their marriages after more than a decade. Hong Jin-kyung, who married a businessman in 2003 and has a daughter, Rael, shared that her daughter maintains a good relationship with her father. She clarified that the decision to divorce was mutual and not due to any fault on either side. Lyn and Lee Soo, who married in 2014 after a year of public dating, announced their divorce on August 23. Their agency stated that they will continue to support each other as musical colleagues.

In 2024, several other celebrities, including actors Hwang Jung-eum, Lee Beom-soo, Sunwoo Eun-sook, singer Ben, T-ara's Jiyeon, and voice actress Seo Yu-ri, announced their divorces. The previous year, 2023, saw 15 celebrity couples part ways, including actors Kang Sung-yeon, Ki Eun-se, singers Yulhee, Seo In-young, YouTuber Daedoseogwan, and former fencing athlete Nam Hyun-hee. Notably, in November 2023, four couples, including Kim Byung-man, Ahn Hyun-mo, Sung Jin-hwan, and Park Ji-yoon, announced their divorces within two weeks.

Divorce can signify a new beginning for individuals. Rather than assigning blame, it's important to view these celebrities' difficult decisions with empathy and understanding.
