New Drama 'A Hundred Memories' Set to Premiere: A Nostalgic Tale of First Love and Friendship

The upcoming JTBC drama 'A Hundred Memories' introduces viewers to the character Kim Dami, who encounters Heo Nam-jun.

'A Hundred Memories' (written by Yang Hee-seung and Kim Bo-ram, directed by Kim Sang-ho, produced by SLL) is a retro youth melodrama set in the 1980s. It tells the story of Yeong-rae, a bus conductor on the 100 bus, and her shining friendship with Jong-hee, as well as their poignant first love surrounding the fateful man, Jae-pil. The released video captures Yeong-rae's girlish emotions as she experiences her first love with Jae-pil, who suddenly enters her life filled with only work and study.

Yeong-rae, who wakes up at 4 a.m. to start her day as a bus conductor, is the eldest daughter responsible for her family's livelihood. Despite her responsibilities, she is a young woman whose heart flutters at the sight of a handsome student and who finds joy in the simplest things. The moment Jae-pil appears before her, the curtain rises on a radiant and fresh first love.

The video begins with Jae-pil tenderly wrapping Yeong-rae's injured hand with a towel, and Yeong-rae's heart skips a beat as she falls for him at first sight. Yeong-rae cherishes the towel, not allowing anyone else to use it, prompting the new conductor Jong-hee (played by Shin Ye-eun) to notice the budding romance, saying, "It seems like a guy, doesn't it?" Despite Yeong-rae's denial, her shy smile betrays her feelings.

Jae-pil, who has always dreamed of a fateful love, appears before Yeong-rae and stands by her side during difficult times. His warm gestures, like rushing to help when her mother is sick and covering her with a hat so she can cry freely, make Yeong-rae's heart race even more. Jae-pil's constant presence during both happy and sad times leads Yeong-rae to believe, "Maybe this person is my destiny." The scene where Jae-pil approaches Yeong-rae for a kiss heightens the excitement of first love. As the premiere approaches, anticipation builds to see if Yeong-rae's first and destined love will come to fruition.

The production team stated, "This teaser video aims to capture the thrill of first love and fateful romance that youth of that era cherished. We hope viewers will feel Yeong-rae's emotions as she experiences a pure love with Jae-pil, whom she met unexpectedly and without planning." They added, "The fresh and sincere retro youth melodrama created by Kim Dami, Heo Nam-jun, and Shin Ye-eun will evoke memories of first love in the hearts of viewers."

Meanwhile, 'A Hundred Memories' is set to premiere on September 13th at 10:40 PM on JTBC, following 'Esquire: Lawyers Dreaming of Lawyers.'
