On the August 16th episode of JTBC's 'Knowing Bros,' Cho Tae-sung appeared alongside Jang Ye-won and Lee Jung-hyun for a special episode commemorating Liberation Day.
During the show, Jang Ye-won piqued curiosity by claiming she would reveal Cho's extravagance. She jokingly asked if he had moved to the luxurious Hannam-dong neighborhood, as many aspire to live in Tower Palace.
Jang Ye-won remarked, "He does numerous lectures and programs, and every book he publishes becomes a bestseller. I've always wondered how much money he has. Over the past five years working together, I've noticed that despite his casual attire, he has one luxury item."
The luxury item Jang referred to was glasses. She noted, "Five years ago, he had one or two pairs, but now he carries a case full of them. He changes them to match his outfit's color."
Cho Tae-sung responded, "I'm a lecturer, and I need to keep things interesting. My face might be plain, so I decided to change my glasses to add some flair." He added that the glasses have no prescription and are meant to entertain his audience.
Cho revealed he carries about six pairs of glasses with him. He also shared a story about being mistaken for a voice phishing scam when he received a call from the Blue House asking him to host the Liberation Day event.
He said, "I thought it was a scam when they asked me to host such a significant national event. It made me realize I had succeeded."
Meanwhile, Seo Jang-hoon praised Cho for offering free lectures despite being a renowned lecturer, noting that it requires a strong philosophy. Cho explained, "I wanted to create lectures that students would choose even if they had money. One student once told me they were forced to take my EBS lectures due to financial constraints and asked for proper teaching."
Cho Tae-sung revealed, "If I entered the private education market, my annual revenue would exceed $20 million. I also want to live in luxury, but the college entrance exam market is vast, while the Korean history exam market is not."
