On the 1st, at the Ten Asia headquarters in Jungnim-dong, Seoul, actress Choi Yoo-ri, who stars in the movie 'Zombie Daughter,' shared her thoughts.

'Zombie Daughter' is a comedic drama about a father who embarks on a secret mission to protect his daughter, the last remaining zombie on Earth. Choi Yoo-ri plays the role of Soo-ah, the last zombie.

Choi Yoo-ri joined the cast of 'Zombie Daughter' through a casting offer rather than an audition. She explained, "After receiving the script for 'Zombie Daughter,' I had a one-on-one meeting with the director. The director discussed Soo-ah's atmosphere and character traits with me. Since it's based on a webtoon, he wanted Soo-ah to be portrayed as cute and lovable, and I agreed."

When asked if she felt any pressure due to the director's high expectations, she responded, "I was grateful for the opportunity to play my favorite character in a work I loved. While there was a sense of responsibility, I was mostly thankful." She added, "Filming was really fun. I was filled with joy," and smiled. She also expressed her excitement, saying, "I had been following the original webtoon since it was serialized, and it felt like the character of Soo-ah was destined for me."

Choi Yoo-ri, a high school freshman, mentioned that she invited some of her close friends to the premiere. Regarding their reactions, she said, "They told me it was fun, and they laughed and cried. They also said I did a great job. Friends who couldn't attend the premiere congratulated me on the release day and promised to watch it in theaters. I was really thankful."

When asked why 'Zombie Daughter' is gaining attention among Gen Z, she replied, "There are many famous actors, and the cute cat 'Aeyongi' appears in the film. Aeyongi is like the mascot of our movie." She also noted, "The fact that it's a film adaptation of a webtoon is another reason for the interest. The original has a strong fan base, and many of my friends are fans of the original."

Released on July 30th, 'Zombie Daughter' topped the box office for two consecutive days. On its opening day, it attracted 430,095 viewers, setting the highest opening score of the year. It surpassed the opening score of 368,582 set by the hit comedy 'Extreme Job,' achieving the highest opening score for a Korean comedy film. It also broke the record for the highest pre-sale numbers among this year's releases.
