Actor Yoon Kye-sang shares insights about his role as a host.
On the 27th, Yoon Kye-sang appeared on the YouTube channel 'Yojung Jae-hyung'.
During the episode, Yoon Kye-sang discussed his acting career, which began with the film 'Flying Boys'. He recalled, "I was taken to the audition by my manager without knowing it was one. Director Byun Young-joo was tough back then and said she was displeased that I came without preparation. Feeling emotional, I showed her what I had practiced, saying, 'I'm not someone to be taken lightly.'"
Yoon expressed gratitude, saying, "Director Byun taught me acting lessons and scene analysis methods. She essentially made me an actor," and added, "It was then that I developed a taste for pursuing realistic acting."
Regarding his role in the film 'Beastie Boys', which portrays the life of a host, Yoon stated, "I wanted to do really well. I lived like the character. If you want to act well, live like that. It's simple," and shared, "I originally couldn't drink at all, but for four months, I drank and threw up."
Although the film attracted around 700,000 viewers and was not a box office hit, it received positive reviews. Yoon noted, "As an idol, 80% of my fans were women, but during this time, male fans increased by about 40%. The character was one that cursed, so women didn't like it much."
Through his subsequent film 'Minority Opinion', Yoon realized "how to live as an actor moving forward," and confessed, "I learned whether I wanted to be a star or a true actor."
Yoon described himself as "stubborn and indifferent to what others say," adding, "I don't do that now, but when I was younger, I only looked forward and believed what I thought was right. Acting has been honest in my life."
He also shared with a smile, "When I talk about acting to my wife, she tells me to be quiet and just work hard and be grateful."
