On the latest episode of MBC's variety show 'Hangout with Yoo,' director Jang Hang-jun humorously took jabs at Yoo Jae-suk's appearance and education.
During the episode aired on the afternoon of the 19th, Yoo Jae-suk and Haha met with director Jang Hang-jun, a candidate for the 'Unpopular People's Club.'
Jang Hang-jun appeared wearing a mask, advising, "A star needs to have an air of mystery," which brought laughter. Yoo Jae-suk expressed surprise, saying, "It's the first time I've sensed this aura from you," to which Jang Hang-jun replied, "Do you start filming this early? I just returned from a trip to Spain and Portugal with the production team of 'The Man Who Lives with the King.'"
While preparing a meal, Haha admired a handsome staff member. Yoo Jae-suk agreed, saying, "He should be a celebrity," and pointed to Jang Hang-jun as the least attractive among them.
Jang Hang-jun, visibly upset, retorted, "Are you crazy today? What are you talking about?" and added, "You were born in the right era."
Jang Hang-jun continued, "I agree Haha is second in looks. One of us must be Homo sapiens," and quipped, "I graduated from college, you didn't. You're at the bottom in both looks and education."
When asked about his wife, writer Kim Eun-hee, Jang Hang-jun shared, "She's finished the script for 'Signal 2' and is currently filming." He proudly recalled her acceptance speech for the Baeksang Arts Award for Best Screenplay, where she credited him, saying, "Director Jang Hang-jun, who brought me here despite knowing nothing," which drew laughter.
Now with a daughter in college, Jang Hang-jun asked Yoo Jae-suk about his daughter's age, noting, "These days, everyone seems to go to college. My child's entrance exams were more nerve-wracking than mine. Yoo Jae-suk's high school diploma success story is remarkable. This isn't about educational discrimination."
Haha chimed in, "Despite not being handsome or highly educated, you became the nation's MC," but also praised Yoo Jae-suk's wife, Na Kyung-eun, as a graduate of Yonsei University's English department, and their son Ji-ho as a native English speaker, drawing attention.
