Actor Gong Myung is making a positive impact with his humanitarian efforts.
On the October 13th episode of KBS 1TV's 'Love Across the Sea Season 4', Gong Myung was seen visiting Karamoja, Uganda. The region is facing severe child poverty due to reduced rainfall caused by the climate crisis. Gong Myung met with children who are unable to attend school and instead spend their days panning for gold or breaking stones in quarries just to have a single meal.
Expressing his concern, Gong Myung said, "Poverty and hunger are not choices these children made," and pondered, "How can we alleviate even a little of their hardship?"
Appointed as an ambassador for the international relief NGO World Vision in May last year, Gong Myung shared his commitment, "I want to continue standing by marginalized children and be a source of support." He has contributed to various causes, including support for youth caregivers, emergency medical expenses for young adults preparing for independence, and water supply projects in Bangladesh. In March, he joined Irene, Yoon So-hee, Jung Gun-joo, and Choi Hee-jin in the '2025 Give a Nice Day' campaign, advocating for the protection of children's daily lives.
As a World Vision ambassador and an actor, Gong Myung continues to engage with the public through his diverse roles. He has demonstrated his range and depth as a leading actor in projects like 'One Week Before My Death', 'Please Quit Drinking', and 'The Square'. He also successfully held his first solo fan meeting in Korea last May.
Meanwhile, Gong Myung is set to appear in the upcoming Netflix film 'History of Confession', where he plays the mysterious transfer student 'Han Yoon-seok'.
