Before the news of Jo Yu-ri's casting in 'Squid Game 3' was announced, former IZ*ONE member Choi Ye-na revealed she had a prophetic dream about her friend's audition success.
On the 8th, we met actress Jo Yu-ri at a café in Sogyeok-dong, Seoul, who has been cast in the Netflix series 'Squid Game 3'.
'Squid Game 3' follows Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) as he re-enters the deadly games to save people, depicting the final fates of the surviving participants. Jo Yu-ri plays the role of Jun-hee, a pregnant woman who ends up giving birth during the games.
The potential reunion of IZ*ONE is a topic fans eagerly anticipate. Jo Yu-ri commented, "There are no talks or plans yet. However, if it ever happens, I would definitely participate."
When asked if she still communicates with her former group members, she said, "We talk a lot, but not about reuniting. Instead, we share messages like 'I watched your show' or 'I liked your new song' whenever someone releases a project like 'Squid Game 3'."
Asked about the most memorable reaction from her members, Jo Yu-ri mentioned, "Ye-na unnie's reaction." She added, "Ye-na was particularly curious, asking 'When do you have the baby in the show?' and 'Which episode is the birth scene in?' Since not many friends our age are married or have kids, the unnies found it fascinating."
Jo Yu-ri surprised everyone by revealing, "Ye-na unnie had a prophetic dream about my 'Squid Game 3' audition success." She continued, "In her dream, I was crying because I was pregnant. When she looked up the dream's meaning, it indicated success. So, she asked me if I got the role in 'Squid Game'. It was amazing how she even guessed the character. Because of her dream, she took a keen interest in my acting." She added with a laugh, "It's not exactly a reward for her dream, but since she treated me often, I recently took her out for grilled clams at Wolmido."
When asked if she auditioned specifically for the role of Jun-hee, she replied, "I didn't audition for this specific role. I auditioned with an open mind for female characters, and the director seemed to have placed me in this role."
