'Seocho-dong' stars Lee Jong-suk and Moon Ga-young find themselves clashing both professionally and personally, but a company merger brings them together under one roof.
In the second episode of the tvN weekend drama 'Seocho-dong,' aired on the 6th, viewers witnessed An Joo-hyung (played by Lee Jong-suk) and new attorney Kang Hee-ji (played by Moon Ga-young) engaging in a series of disputes, from past connections to legal perspectives.
The episode achieved impressive ratings, with an average of 5.1% and a peak of 6% in the Seoul metropolitan area, and an average of 5.1% and a peak of 5.9% nationwide. It ranked first in its time slot across cable and general programming channels. The drama also topped the ratings for its target demographic of viewers aged 20-49, both in Seoul and nationwide, according to Nielsen Korea.
During a gathering of associate attorneys, Kang Hee-ji approached An Joo-hyung, who appeared puzzled by her familiarity. Despite the unexpected reaction, Kang Hee-ji quickly integrated herself among the associates, even mentioning a meeting with An Joo-hyung in Hong Kong a decade ago, which he denied, sparking curiosity about their relationship.
The tension between An Joo-hyung and Kang Hee-ji continued over meals, with An Joo-hyung maintaining a somewhat prickly demeanor, and Kang Hee-ji responding in kind. An Joo-hyung's outright denial of their past encounter further aggravated Kang Hee-ji.
Their professional rivalry intensified when they became involved in the same case. Jang Hyun-seok (played by Jeon Seok-chan) faced eviction after failing to repay a bank loan secured against public rental housing. An Joo-hyung, representing the bank, clashed with Kang Hee-ji, who sought to assist Jang Hyun-seok.
An Joo-hyung argued from the bank's perspective, while Kang Hee-ji, discovering a new precedent favorable to Jang Hyun-seok, prepared a legal brief on his behalf, turning the case around.
During the trial, An Joo-hyung recognized the format of Jang Hyun-seok's brief as identical to Kang Hee-ji's firm's documents, realizing her involvement. A heated debate ensued when they met at a restaurant, with colleagues Jo Chang-won (played by Kang Yoo-seok), Bae Moon-jung (played by Ryu Hye-young), and Ha Sang-ki (played by Lim Sung-jae) intervening to mediate.
Back at the office, An Joo-hyung pondered Kang Hee-ji's arguments, seeking solace in a run. On the track, he spotted Kang Hee-ji and recalled a long-buried memory of their meeting and kiss in Hong Kong ten years ago, raising questions about why he continues to deny their past.
Meanwhile, the law firms Gyeongmin, Johwa, and Chung-gong, along with the legal office Hojeon, officially merged into the newly formed law firm Hyeongmin, bringing the associate attorneys under one roof and drawing attention to their future endeavors.
