Renowned actor Lee Byung-hun has been selected as the star of the special actor showcase at the 29th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN). He expressed his honor and gratitude for the recognition.
On July 4th, a press conference for the 'The Master: Lee Byung-hun' actor showcase was held at the Culture Hall of Hyundai Department Store in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province.
Lee Byung-hun, the focus of the special showcase, shared his thoughts, saying, "I am happy and delighted, but also a bit embarrassed. It's an honor to have a special showcase, something I wonder if it will happen again." He continued, "At the same time, I question if I have done enough to deserve such a showcase. I remember thinking as a child about the great seniors who had special showcases for their lifelong work, wondering what it would be like to reach such a position and become a 'master' in one field. I wondered if I could ever achieve that."
He added, "The fact that such a day has come for me is fulfilling and rewarding as an actor. I hope to have another special showcase at the Bucheon Film Festival 30 years from now. It would be an honor if they invite me again. I look forward to the day when I can have another special showcase."
