In the latest episode of tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Gyeonwoo and Seonnyeo' (directed by Kim Yong-wan, written by Yang Ji-hoon, planned by CJ ENM, produced by Studio Dragon, Dexter Pictures, and IO Contents Group), Bae Gyeon-woo (played by Choo Young-woo) is left devastated after witnessing Park Seong-ah (played by Jo Yi-hyun) and Yeom-hwa (played by Choo Ja-hyun) performing a traditional dance. The revelation that Park Seong-ah is a 'shaman' leaves Bae Gyeon-woo in tears, hinting at a crisis in their mutual salvation romance.
The fourth episode recorded an average viewership rating of 3.5% in both the metropolitan and nationwide households. The episode saw Park Seong-ah and Bae Gyeon-woo facing a crisis as rumors spread about Park Seong-ah being a shaman. Unable to reveal the truth in front of Bae Gyeon-woo, Park Seong-ah tried to deflect the situation with an awkward smile. Bae Gyeon-woo, recalling the torment he faced from Yeom-hwa, couldn't hold back his anger, exclaiming, "Do you know what a shaman is? You might as well ask if she killed someone," which left Park Seong-ah even more distressed.
Meanwhile, Pyo Ji-ho (played by Cha Kang-yoon) experiences a change of heart. Realizing his jealousy over Park Seong-ah's constant talk about Bae Gyeon-woo, Pyo Ji-ho confronts Bae Gyeon-woo, explaining that Park Seong-ah's habit of smiling when in trouble is due to his advice to "act confident until you become confident." Pyo Ji-ho's confession of his feelings for Park Seong-ah, declaring, "I will cherish what is precious," surprises Bae Gyeon-woo.
Bae Gyeon-woo realizes his mistake after Pyo Ji-ho's pointed remark. Understanding that even a bright smile can't stop bad people from tormenting until tears are shed, he apologizes to Park Seong-ah for his misinterpretation and anger. Park Seong-ah comforts Bae Gyeon-woo, who is haunted by past memories, promising to ward off all bad things, leading to a heartfelt embrace.
However, Bae Gyeon-woo's happiness is short-lived as Yeom-hwa, the 'bad connection' and reason for his disdain for shamans, reappears. Yeom-hwa's actions, including drawing a talisman on his grandmother's photo and unsettling him with family concerns, leave Bae Gyeon-woo feeling powerless once again.
The bad blood with Yeom-hwa continues as Park Seong-ah encounters her while visiting an abandoned house for a ritual. Yeom-hwa suggests performing a traditional dance to divert Park Seong-ah's attention from the malevolent spirit, just as Bae Gyeon-woo arrives, shocked to see them together.
Bae Gyeon-woo's narration, "There is someone who promised to stay by my side until the darkness fades and the light comes. That hand is so warm that I thought I could be happy for once. It was a futile dream," followed by a tearful ending, leaves viewers deeply moved. With Bae Gyeon-woo discovering Park Seong-ah's identity as a 'shaman,' all eyes are on the future of their relationship.
Meanwhile, the fifth episode of tvN's 'Gyeonwoo and Seonnyeo' will air on the 7th (Monday) at 8:50 PM.
