In the latest episode of Mnet's 'World of Street Woman Fighter' (WSWF), Team BUMSUP delivered a breathtaking performance during the Mega Crew Mission, leaving the audience in awe.
The sixth episode, aired on the 1st, revealed the results of the Mega Crew Mission for each team. Team BUMSUP, led by Honey J, was the standout, with Honey J expressing determination from the start, stating, "We must make up for this mission."
The concept for BUMSUP's performance was 'Oriental Sensibility.' Honey J explained, "We focused on simple keywords that symbolize Korea, reinterpreting traditional objects like nightmares, grim reapers, and the gat in a modern way." Lip J added, "We concentrated on infusing Korean identity into the costumes and music."
The stage featured a special appearance by actress Roh Yoon-seo, adding depth to the performance. Honey J commented, "We cast Roh Yoon-seo not just as a dancer but to express deeper emotions, which enriched the stage."
Judge Park Jin-young noted, "Experience is crucial for the Mega Crew Mission. AG Squad rose to fame with this mission. K-pop choreographers have an advantage due to their experience with year-end award shows. Rie Hata also has extensive experience with award show stages."
Rie Kim expressed her support for the Korean team, saying, "The reason Korean teams are promising is that they have all directed Mega Crew Missions before. I have high expectations."
Team Korea BUMSUP's Mega Crew video surpassed 10 million views within three days, setting a new record for the 'Street Woman Fighter' series. Seong Han-bin explained, "Many official accounts from public institutions left comments on BUMSUP's performance video, praising it as a 'national heritage-level performance.'"
Ultimately, BUMSUP claimed first place in the Mega Crew Mission, scoring 1,195 out of 1,200 points and receiving enthusiastic applause. Honey J expressed gratitude, saying, "Thank you so much. This isn't the end, and we'll do our best until the end. We won't let the support of many go to waste." Despite shedding many tears in the past, Honey J showed determination instead of tears this time.
Judge Rie Kim shared her thoughts, "When I did the Mega Crew Mission, Rie Hata was a judge. Now, I'm a judge, and Rie Hata is performing. It's fascinating." She added, "Apologies to other crews, but the level is different. They transcended the Mega Crew Mission framework."
As the stage video began, Park Jin-young exclaimed, "This is where it ends. BUMSUP is insane," showering them with praise. The judges were left speechless, applauding the detailed choreography and composition focused on high-angle sections. Rie Kim remarked, "It's insane how each member perfectly harmonized different choreography. It's an impossible level."
BUMSUP secured first place with near-perfect scores. Crew members were moved to tears, and Hyojin Choi said, "I finally feel recognized. It was truly comforting." Honey J also expressed deep emotion, saying, "I will never forget today."
