Joy Hyun battles to save Choo Young-woo.
In the third episode of tvN's 'Gyeonwoo and the Fairy' (directed by Kim Yong-wan and Jung Woo-sik, written by Yang Ji-hoon), which aired at 8:50 PM on the 30th, Park Seong-ah (played by Joy Hyun) is depicted trying to save Bae Gyeon-woo (played by Choo Young-woo), who is destined to die.
During the episode, Park Seong-ah asks for help from her spiritual mother (played by Kim Mi-kyung). Park Seong-ah pleads, "Please help," explaining, "Bae Gyeon-woo is haunted by a suicide spirit." Upon seeing his fate, the spiritual mother realizes that Bae Gyeon-woo is destined to take his own life. She questions, "Do you really want to save him that much?" and adds, "It's not enough to just want to save someone." Park Seong-ah responds, "We don't know if he wants to live or not." To this, the spiritual mother advises, "Then you must make him want to live."
Bae Gyeon-woo attends the funeral of Oh Ok-soon (played by Gil Hae-yeon). As a student, he is expected to stay as the chief mourner. However, a relative demands that he give up his mourner's armband. Witnessing this, Park Seong-ah intervenes, saying, "What are you doing? Don't you know you're in front of the deceased?"
Park Seong-ah confronts the relatives, stating, "He's the one who has been taking care of the deceased all this time, so why are you driving him away? Are you advertising your dysfunctional family? Just because you shout doesn't mean you're right." A relative retorts, "Are you a shaman? Did a shaman come to the funeral?" and adds, "Shamans can't come to funerals. Are you treating us like ghosts?"
At this moment, Park Seong-ah sees the ghost and warns it. Pointing at Bae Gyeon-woo, she tells the ghost, "Don't even think about touching him. He's mine." She continues, "I'm not afraid of any of you because the truly scary thing is behind me." From then on, Park Seong-ah struggles to protect Bae Gyeon-woo by driving away the ghosts.
