Im Si-wan Reflects on Blue Dragon Series Awards and Embraces New Challenges

Im Si-wan reminisced about his win at last year's Blue Dragon Series Awards and expressed gratitude for the praise he received for his acting, while also revealing his adventurous spirit towards exploring various genres.

On the 25th, the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards handprinting event took place at CGV Yeouido in Seoul. Attendees included last year's drama award winners Im Si-wan, Park Bo-young, Ahn Jae-hong, Geum Hae-na, Lee Jung-ha, and Go Yoon-jung, as well as variety show winners Shin Dong-yup, Jang Do-yeon, Kwak Joon-bin, and Yoon Ga-i.

Reflecting on his award acceptance last year, Im Si-wan shared, "Having attended many award ceremonies, I've developed a knack for it. I prepared only 10% of my acceptance speech." In response, MC Park Kyung-lim humorously asked if he could deliver the remaining 90% today. Im Si-wan, slightly flustered, replied, "I'll let you know after some contemplation," and laughed. When Park Kyung-lim joked about time constraints, Im Si-wan quipped, "If I can't say it today, I'll post it on my social media."

Im Si-wan, who showcased a different image with his witty performance in 'Boyhood,' addressed the speculation about it being his retirement work by saying, "I'm grateful for the evaluation that I put my heart and soul into it." He added, "If given the chance, I'd like to challenge myself in the comedy genre again. I want to try various genres, not just the ones I've attempted before, if opportunities arise."

With the release of 'Squid Game' Season 3 approaching, Im Si-wan promoted it by saying, "Please look forward to it. Many have asked about the outcome, but you can watch it in just two days without needing to ask anymore."

In his closing remarks, Im Si-wan shared, "I want to express a few more percent of the remaining 10%. Every time I attend an award ceremony, I wonder, 'Can I act better than someone else?' I have many doubts. I believe there are people with more effort and talent than me." He continued, "Award ceremonies can lead to expectations, excitement, or disappointment, but having such feelings makes me feel inadequate. I see these ceremonies as a way to encourage and honor those who contribute to the advancement of Korean content. I will continue to approach these events as a celebration of everyone's hard work and enjoy them."
