Reflecting on memories with her children, Kim Nam-joo shared her thoughts on her parenting style. She admitted, "I thought I wasn't like that, but I was mistaken. We often think of our children the way we want to. I thought I was rational." She added, "I think I would be a better parent if I became a grandmother. I feel sorry for making my kids do things that didn't suit them, but I was a first-time mom too. Still, I managed to do it," she said with a smile.

Kim Nam-joo described herself as a mom who is "very strict when needed but also very caring." She continued, "Now that the kids are older, I'm more like a friend to them. I try not to create distance," and confessed, "I pretend to understand but sometimes get hurt and cry alone."

She shared a humorous story about disciplining her eldest daughter during her teenage years. "My eldest went through a short but intense rebellious phase," she said. "There was a time when she was really angry. Even during adolescence, there are lines that shouldn't be crossed. Children should respect their parents. I told her, 'Are you a teenager? I'm going through menopause. Menopause wins,'" she laughed. She added, "Now, she's like a friend to me," expressing her affection.

Kim Nam-joo and Kim Seung-woo's eldest daughter, Ra-hee, was reportedly in the top 5% of gifted children and the top 1% of students nationwide during her elementary school years. She attended an international school in Songdo, Incheon, which had an annual tuition of approximately $570,000 in 2012, and later studied at Deerfield Academy, a prestigious boarding school in Massachusetts. She is currently studying at a renowned overseas university.
