Special Screening of 'Hi-Five' Celebrates Organ Donation with Heartfelt Event

The film 'Hi-Five' hosted a special screening event on the 17th at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall, attended by organ donation families and related parties.

'Hi-Five' is a comedic action film that tells the story of five individuals who gain unique superpowers through organ transplants and their encounters with those who covet their abilities. The film organized a group screening in collaboration with KODA (Korean Organ Donation Agency).

The event, held on the 17th at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall, was attended by over 50 KODA family members, including ambassador Kim Kyung-sik, KODA staff, and invited guests from organ donation and transplant medical institutions such as Seoul National University Hospital and Gangnam Severance Hospital, totaling around 200 attendees. The event aimed to deliver the message of 'the miracle of connecting lives' more meaningfully, as the film's narrative of characters connected through organ transplants resonated warmly with the real donor families.

During the stage greeting, Anna Lee, the representative of Annapurna Film, the production company of 'Hi-Five,' expressed her gratitude to KODA, saying, "'Hi-Five' is a story about those who gain special abilities through organ transplants, but ultimately, it's about people reaching out to help others. I am sincerely grateful and honored to share this film with you." KODA's Director Lee Sam-yeol responded, "We thank 'Hi-Five' for inviting donor families, medical staff, and KODA employees to a film centered on the theme of life-sharing. Just as the transplant recipients in the film thrive, we will do our best to ensure those who receive new life through donation can regain their health and continue the noble act of life-sharing."

After the screening, attendees shared their thoughts through handwritten notes. Reactions included, "Thank you for portraying organ donation in such a delightful and warm manner," "It's refreshing to think of life-sharing in such a bright context," and "It was the best movie combining fun and emotion," adding to the event's significance.

'Hi-Five' is now showing in theaters nationwide.
