So Ji-sub recently opened up about his weight management journey on the YouTube channel 'Channel Fifteenya'.

On the 6th, the YouTube show 'Na Young-seok's Wagle Wagle' featured the main cast of Netflix's 'Square', including So Ji-sub, Gong Myung, Ahn Gil-kang, and Jo Han-chul.

During the episode, PD Na Young-seok humorously relied on Gong Myung, the only extrovert among the introverted actors, saying, "I trust only you." So Ji-sub revealed that during the filming of 'Square', Cha Seung-won was quite the chatterbox, drawing attention.

So Ji-sub described 'Square' as a story about avenging a deceased brother, and expressed his gratitude for being cast as the protagonist in this adaptation of a popular webtoon. He mentioned, "I consider myself lucky to be chosen. I love noir films, and I feel I might not be able to do action roles as I get older."

Reflecting on the casting, So Ji-sub said, "Seeing the cast, I felt I had a support system." He expressed admiration for veteran actor Heo Joon-ho, who told him, "Do as you wish, I'll handle it all."

Regarding the team atmosphere, So Ji-sub noted, "We hardly had any gatherings. No one really drinks much." Ahn Gil-kang added humorously, "We're not the type who enjoy meeting up."

Jo Han-chul explained the lack of gatherings, saying, "The lead (So Ji-sub) was on a diet, and senior Heo Joon-ho had also lost a lot of weight." So Ji-sub recalled, "Before 'Square', I weighed around 95kg, but during filming, I was about 76-77kg. As soon as I got the script, I thought, 'This is serious,' and lost the weight immediately."

Meanwhile, Netflix's 'Square' is a noir action series where 'Nam Gi-jun', who left the world after taking responsibility for an incident at 'Square' in the past, returns to the world of 'Square' after 11 years following the death of his brother 'Nam Gi-seok'. He seeks to uncover the truth behind the death and exact revenge. The series stars So Ji-sub, Gong Myung, Choo Young-woo, Ahn Gil-kang, Jo Han-chul, and Lee Joon-hyuk.
