Stray Kids' Felix has been announced as the new face of the popular café franchise, Gong Cha.
According to TenAsia's report on the 31st, Felix has been selected as a model for Gong Cha and will begin his role next month.
It is unusual for an idol group member to be chosen as a model for Gong Cha, which has traditionally featured actors like Lee Jong-suk, Park Seo-joon, Lee Seung-gi, and Song Kang. Although Rowoon from SF9 was also a model, his activities have been more prominent as an actor, making Felix's appointment unique.
The decision to appoint a globally popular idol, who is currently on a massive world tour, seems to be a strategic move to boost sales. Felix, who is often seen enjoying Gong Cha's bubble tea, is considered a perfect fit for the brand.
Stray Kids, the group Felix is part of, is currently on their 'dominATE' world tour, performing in 55 shows across 34 locations worldwide. This tour is the largest in Stray Kids' history, expected to attract 2.2 million attendees and set a new record for the highest attendance in a single K-pop tour.
Having performed in various stadiums, Stray Kids will now head to Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium from today until the 1st of next month. They will continue their stadium tour across 10 North American cities, including Arlington, Atlanta, Orlando, New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, and Toronto, with 13 shows, followed by 9 shows in 6 European cities in July.
