May-born legendary K-pop groups SHINee and SEVENTEEN are set to make a grand return in celebration of their debut anniversaries.
SHINee will release a new single on the 25th to mark their 17th anniversary. The title track, 'Poet | Artist,' is an electro-pop song infused with vocal riffs, snare, and reggae rhythms. The lyrics convey a message of breaking boundaries and creating new things together, inspired by the poetic license of a poet and artist. The late Jonghyun contributed to the lyrics and composition for SHINee.
From the 23rd to the 25th, SHINee will hold a concert at the KSPO DOME in Seoul's Songpa District, where they will meet fans and perform the title track and the song 'Starlight' for the first time. Unlike other shows that start on the hour, the concert on the 25th, their debut anniversary, will begin at 5:25 PM for a special touch.
Leading up to the event, SHINee heightened anticipation by live streaming past concert footage on their official YouTube channel from the 18th to the 22nd. Some members even joined the live chat to interact with fans.
SEVENTEEN will celebrate their 10th anniversary with the release of their 5th studio album, 'HAPPY BURSTDAY,' on the 26th. The album features 16 tracks, including three group songs and individual tracks for each of the 13 members, showcasing their unique personalities and styles.
Known for their self-producing prowess since debut, SEVENTEEN continues to solidify their identity. Member Woozi took on the role of producer for the title track 'THUNDER,' while S.Coups also contributed as a composer, demonstrating their musical growth.
Fans are also excited about SEVENTEEN's collaboration with PD Na Young-seok. A teaser for 'Nana's Guesthouse with SEVENTEEN' was released on the 22nd, promising a fun 3-night, 4-day stay with the group. SEVENTEEN has previously worked with PD Na, garnering positive reactions. Their web variety show 'Fifteen Nights on a Business Trip 2 - SEVENTEEN Edition' amassed over 130 million views, and 'Nana Tour with SEVENTEEN' became the best-selling VOD on Weverse.
As SHINee celebrates 17 years and SEVENTEEN marks a decade, both groups have established themselves as iconic boy bands of different generations, serving as exemplary models of longevity in the industry.
