Kang Yoo-seok is set to team up with Moon Ga-young in his next project, following his collaborations with IU and Go Yoon-jung.
In the tvN weekend drama 'Someday Wise Resident Life' (hereafter 'Wise Resident'), Kang Yoo-seok added another memorable character to his repertoire as he played Eom Jae-il, a first-year obstetrics and gynecology resident at Jongno Yulje Hospital. The drama concluded on a high note, thanks to Kang's stellar performance.
The final episode of 'Wise Resident' achieved its highest nationwide viewership rating of 8.1%, according to Nielsen Korea. Since its premiere, the drama steadily gained popularity, capturing both audience interest and ratings. The characters in the series resonated with viewers, each bringing unique charm and earning their support. Among them, Kang Yoo-seok stood out with his detailed acting and authenticity, perfectly embodying Eom Jae-il and creating an irreplaceable character.
Kang's performance shone until the very end. Eom Jae-il, who initially struggled with everything, grew into a reliable resident sought after by patients. He even won the approval of Professor Jo Joon-mo (played by Lee Hyun-kyun), marking a first in Yulje's history.
Eom Jae-il's consistent warmth and diligence melted the heart of the often grumpy Professor Jo, who frequently challenged the residents, adding intrigue to the story.
