The unexpected past of Gong Myung's character has been revealed in 'Please Take Care of Me in This Life as Well'.
In the second episode of tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Please Take Care of Me in This Life as Well', aired on the 13th, the shocking past of the seemingly perfect 'Seo-nim' Yi-jun, played by Gong Myung, was unveiled.
Yi-jun, who injured his leg in a car accident while trying to avoid the drunken Geum-joo, played by Choi Soo-young, charged her for car repair and driver costs. In response, Geum-joo volunteered to be his 'daily substitute', taking on various chores for the village elders.
While Yi-jun was kind to everyone in Bocheon, he was notably prickly only towards Geum-joo, engaging in constant bickering. Geum-joo mistakenly believed that Yi-jun had experienced heartbreak similar to hers. Yi-jun retorted, "I don't think it's something you should be meddling in," echoing his past harsh words to Geum-joo, "Stop worrying about others." This added intrigue to Yi-jun's continued emotional distance.
However, Yi-jun's emotional barriers didn't last long. Upon hearing that Geum-joo had rushed to Seoul, he showed concern despite being exhausted from house calls all day. Yi-jun revealed his true feelings, saying, "I can't help but worry if something bad happened."
Yi-jun wasn't just hiding his feelings for Geum-joo. Mistakenly believing she had gone to Seoul to party, he shocked viewers by drinking straight from a bottle upon returning home.
Gong Myung convincingly portrayed Yi-jun's complex inner world, appearing indifferent to Geum-joo while secretly caring deeply for her. His portrayal of Yi-jun's contrasting demeanor—warm to the villagers yet solitary and drinking at home—intensified viewers' curiosity about his hidden backstory.
The third episode of tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Please Take Care of Me in This Life as Well', featuring Gong Myung, will air on the 19th at 8:50 PM.
