According to police reports on the 8th, the Songpa Police Station in Seoul has forwarded the case of the woman, identified as A, to the prosecution on charges of sexual harassment in a public place under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act.
The incident occurred on June 13 last year, the day after Jin completed his military service, during a 'hug event with 1,000 fans' at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Songpa District. A attended the event and unexpectedly kissed Jin on the cheek.
After the event, A further fueled fans' anger by writing on her blog, "My lips touched his neck. His skin was incredibly soft."
Jin appeared visibly surprised by the sudden incident, and A's actions sparked a 'sexual harassment controversy,' leading to a complaint filed by a netizen.
The Songpa Police Station initially summoned A for questioning, but the investigation was delayed as A was reportedly residing abroad, leading to a suspension of the investigation in March.
According to police investigation regulations, if a suspect is abroad for more than two months, making it impossible to conclude the investigation, the investigation can be suspended. A was known to be in Japan and not residing in Korea.
A police official stated at the time, "We plan to resume the investigation as soon as A appears," and it seems the investigation progressed to prosecution after A recently returned to Korea and voluntarily appeared before the police.
However, during the investigation, the police also identified another woman, B, who allegedly harassed Jin, but her whereabouts remain unknown, and the investigation is currently suspended.
