Cube Entertainment revealed a teaser video titled 'for (G)' on May 2 through i-dle's official social media channels. The group, consisting of members Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua, is seen in the video dancing and smiling in the rain alongside figures in black robes, paying tribute to 'G'. The video concludes with the haunting lyrics "누가 뭐 겁나?" from their debut song 'LATATA', as the scene shifts to a burnt coffin of 'G'.
The video also announced the release of their 8th mini album, signaling a new beginning after parting ways with 'G'. The teaser ends with intriguing dates: May 5, 6, 9, 14, 16, and 19, sparking curiosity among fans.
Pre-orders for i-dle's 8th mini album have begun. The album is available in three versions, with pre-order buyers receiving an additional poster. Notably, a special photocard album without a CD is also available, offering digital content via QR codes, enhancing its collectible value.
Celebrating their 7th anniversary, the group has officially changed their name from '(G)I-DLE' to 'i-dle'. After renewing their contracts with Cube Entertainment last December, the group aims to showcase limitless music and concepts by dropping 'G' and the parentheses from their name. This change has already made waves, topping China's Weibo real-time search rankings, highlighting their global influence.
As they gear up for their May 19 comeback, i-dle plans to engage with fans through various content releases.
