Park Bo-gum's Dramatic Transformation Unveiled in JTBC's 'Good Boy' Teaser

Park Bo-gum's striking transformation in JTBC's 'Good Boy' has been revealed for the first time through the initial teaser video. Known for his dedication, Park Bo-gum reportedly engaged in daily strength training for an hour and boxing training for two hours over six months. He teams up with Kim So-hyun, Lee Sang-yi, Heo Sung-tae, and Tae Won-seok, collectively known as the 'Good Avengers,' to deliver a thrilling mix of romance, comedy, and action.

JTBC's new weekend drama 'Good Boy' follows medalists who become police officers through special recruitment, trading their medals for police badges to fight against a world rife with dishonesty and unfairness. Directed by Shim Na-yeon, known for award-winning dramas like 'Beyond Evil' and 'The Good Bad Mother,' and written by Lee Dae-il, who has crafted unique genre pieces like 'Life on Mars' and 'Chief of Staff,' this series promises a fresh take on the youth investigation genre.

The teaser video showcases a rhythmic blend of romance, comedy, and action, hinting at the birth of a new youth hero series. Once standing proudly on the podium as medalists, the 'Good Avengers'—Park Bo-gum, Kim So-hyun, Lee Sang-yi, Heo Sung-tae, and Tae Won-seok—now face harsh realities, overcoming past wounds and setbacks to reignite their fiery spirits.

The video begins with the heroes' past glories at international competitions: boxing gold medalist Yoon Dong-joo (Park Bo-gum), shooting gold medalist Ji Han-na (Kim So-hyun), fencing silver medalist Kim Jong-hyun (Lee Sang-yi), wrestling bronze medalist Go Man-sik (Heo Sung-tae), and discus throw bronze medalist Shin Jae-hong (Tae Won-seok) all shone brightly in their respective fields.

However, their glory is short-lived. The subsequent scenes quickly flash through their current, less glamorous lives as newly recruited police officers. Yoon Dong-joo, who once thrilled crowds with his uppercuts, now struggles in a cramped car at night. Ji Han-na, who once hit bullseyes with precision, now forces a smile in a different reality. Kim Jong-hyun, Go Man-sik, and Shin Jae-hong face similarly challenging situations, with Shin Jae-hong even donning a mascot costume on the streets.

Despite these challenges, their hearts burn with renewed passion as they face the emergence of the biggest villain in Inseong City. The elusive silhouette suggests a formidable adversary, yet the 'Good Avengers' remain resolute. Yoon Dong-joo's declaration, "The round isn't over until the opponent is crushed," and his intense gaze foreshadow their relentless battle.

The production team stated, "'Good Boy' is a story about youth rising from defeat. Our 'Good Avengers' are ready to deliver a satisfying uppercut to dishonesty and unfairness. As they break free from their mundane lives and start anew, they will ignite a fiery passion in viewers' hearts. With elements of comedy, action, and romance, we invite you to enjoy the drama to the fullest."

'Good Boy' is set to premiere on October 31 at 10:40 PM, following 'More Beautiful Than Heaven.' It will also be available to global audiences via Amazon Prime Video.
