The Boyz's Sunwoo Issues Apology Amidst Character Controversy

Sunwoo of The Boyz has publicly apologized following recent character controversy.

On October 14, Sunwoo posted a lengthy apology on his Instagram, stating, "I have been reflecting continuously on my words and actions." He expressed regret for the delay in his response, explaining that he wanted to convey his thoughts and feelings sincerely.

Sunwoo admitted that his personal thoughts and irrational behavior had distorted his intentions, leading to misunderstandings and hurt feelings. He clarified, "This is not a message to simply move past the situation," acknowledging that his attempts to defend himself against harsh criticism had inadvertently caused more harm.

He emphasized that he is not seeking forgiveness or trying to justify himself, but rather acknowledging that if he appeared a certain way to others, he must recognize that possibility. Sunwoo promised to demonstrate the importance of relationships and emotions in the future.

Concluding his message, Sunwoo apologized to those who criticized him, those who felt uncomfortable, and his supporters, hoping his words would be understood without misinterpretation.

The controversy began when a video circulated online showing Sunwoo dropping his wireless earbuds, which were picked up by a security guard without Sunwoo expressing gratitude. This sparked criticism on platforms like 'X' (formerly Twitter).

Actress Nana commented on the video, stating, "He needs to be scolded," and "You can tell a lot from one thing." She later added that while judging someone from a short clip isn't fair, Sunwoo's actions seemed disrespectful.

In response, Sunwoo expressed his frustration on a fan platform, denying the accusations and stating he would never act that way, especially in front of fans.

On October 13, his agency, One Hundred, also issued an apology, acknowledging the potential for character controversy from the video and expressing regret for not managing the artist more effectively. They also mentioned preparing legal action against baseless malicious comments.
