Oh My Girl's YooA Ventures into Acting with 'Project Y'

Oh My Girl's YooA is set to make her acting debut in the film 'Project Y', marking her first foray into acting after 10 years in the entertainment industry.

According to reports from TenAsia on the 14th, YooA has joined the cast of 'Project Y' (working title). She has taken on a significant role in the film, and her scenes have already been completed.

'Project Y' is a crime drama set against the backdrop of Gangnam's nightlife, following the story of Mi-sun and Do-kyung as they attempt to escape their harsh realities by stealing 8 billion won worth of black market gold bars. The film is notable for its female leads, with Han So-hee and Jeon Jong-seo, who are well-known friends in the entertainment industry, taking on the main roles.

YooA debuted in 2015 as a member of the group Oh My Girl, celebrating their 10th anniversary this year. Known as the main dancer of the group, she also boasts impressive vocal skills, having pursued solo activities. Her expressive stage presence and eye-catching performances have long hinted at her potential as an actress.

With this move, YooA follows in the footsteps of her fellow Oh My Girl members who have ventured into acting. Yubin, a former child actress, has established her acting career through various projects such as the film 'Memory Time' and web dramas 'Ghost Lives' and 'Some Toon 2020'. Arin, who stars in the drama 'S Line', has been officially invited to the long-form competition at the Cannes International Series Festival ('Canneseries') taking place from the 24th to the 29th. Seunghee made her acting debut in the KBS 2TV drama 'Oasis' last year and delivered a compelling performance as Park Chorok in 'Jeong Nyeoni'. Hyojung debuted as a musical actress in 'A Thousand Blues' last year.

Oh My Girl, with YooA as a member, released a special single 'Oh My' on the 9th. They will also hold a 10th-anniversary concert on the 19th and 20th at the Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul, to connect with their fans.
