South Korean actress Nam Bo-ra, who is set to marry in May, was shocked to discover her ovarian age is older than her actual age during a recent health check-up.
On the KBS2 show 'New Release, Pyeon Restaurant' aired on the 11th, Nam Bo-ra, a bride-to-be, was seen undergoing her first-ever health examination.
Accompanied by her fiancé, Nam Bo-ra, who had not had a health check-up until the age of 35, decided to undergo the examination at his suggestion.
As the eldest of 13 siblings, Nam Bo-ra had previously expressed her desire for a large family on 'Pyeon Restaurant,' stating she hopes to have at least three children, and possibly four.
However, she was taken aback by the results of her Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) test, which indicated her ovarian age to be 37, despite her being 35. The results also showed a monthly pregnancy probability of 13%, leaving Nam Bo-ra visibly unsettled.
The doctor reassured her, saying, "Considering this is your first health check-up at this age, your health isn't bad. Even in their 20s, women have a final pregnancy probability of only 20%. You're doing fine."
Nam Bo-ra inquired, "I would like to have a large family, ideally four children. Is that possible?" The doctor advised, "Women over 40 are considered high-risk pregnancies and are closely monitored by hospitals. However, being high-risk doesn't mean it's impossible. You just need to try more during your ovulation period."
