The film 'Lobby' is set to make its mark on the global stage, expanding its reach beyond domestic theaters.
Starting with its release in Vietnam on April 18, 'Lobby' will also premiere in Australia and New Zealand on April 24. By the end of April, it will hit theaters in Taiwan, followed by Mongolia and Japan on July 26. Additional releases are planned for Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, and other Southeast Asian regions. Furthermore, the film's worldwide in-flight rights have been sold.
Veteran distributors are backing 'Lobby's international release. GaragePlay, known for its success with films like 'Peninsula', 'The Divine Fury', 'The Outlaws', 'Veteran 2', 'Suzume', 'John Wick 4', and 'Someday or One Day', will handle distribution across Asia. A representative from GaragePlay expressed excitement, stating, "We believe that 'Lobby', directed and starred by Ha Jung-woo, will offer a fresh and unique experience to Taiwanese audiences, and we eagerly anticipate its release."
Emphasis Video Entertainment Ltd., which has distributed various Korean films such as 'The Divine Fury', 'Veteran 2', and 'Hear Me', will manage the global in-flight rights. The Filmbridge, known for distributing 'The Outlaws 4' and 'Pilot', will oversee the Mongolian release, while Runup Vietnam, which distributed 'Revolver', will handle the Vietnamese release.
Film company BeolJip, responsible for international sales, shared their thoughts on 'Lobby's Asian market success: "We believe that the witty dialogue and dynamic performances by the talented cast, led by director Ha Jung-woo, are key to its international appeal. 'Lobby' tells the story of Chang-wook (played by Ha Jung-woo), a startup CEO who knows nothing but research, as he embarks on his first lobbying golf game to secure a 4 trillion won national project. The film is currently screening in theaters nationwide.
