JYP Entertainment Donates 300 Million Won for Myanmar Earthquake Relief Efforts

JYP Entertainment has donated 300 million won to World Vision, an international relief and development NGO, to support emergency relief and child medical expenses following the devastating earthquake in Myanmar.

The donation will be used to provide emergency food, essential supplies, water sanitation, child medical expenses, and psychosocial support to 11 villages in the Mandalay region, which were severely affected by the earthquake last month.

JYP Entertainment expressed their condolences, stating, "We extend our deepest sympathies to those who lost their lives, their families, and all who lost their homes in an instant. We hope that through our support for medical expenses, children and families can quickly recover from this disaster and regain their health and daily lives."

Previously, JYP Entertainment donated 500 million won to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in 2020, 300 million won for wildfire relief in Gangwon and Gyeongbuk in 2022, 500 million won for children and residents affected by the Turkey-Syria earthquake in 2023, and 500 million won for children and victims of large wildfires in Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk earlier this year.

JYP Entertainment has been systematically conducting CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activities to give back the support and love received from fans and the public. Under the slogan 'EDM (Every Dream Matters!)', they have been continuously running social contribution projects.

Their flagship social contribution activity, the 'EDM Medical Expense Support Project', provides medical expense support to children and families facing economic difficulties in countries such as Mongolia, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, the Philippines, Mexico, and Brazil. Since 2020, they have shared warmth with a total of 3,167 children in need, both domestically and internationally, with donations amounting to 5.15 billion won (headquarters) and 48 million yen (Japan branch).

World Vision, a partner organization for JYP Entertainment's EDM Medical Expense Support Project, continues to conduct rapid and effective relief activities in response to large-scale complex crisis situations, leveraging their extensive experience.
