BTS member J-Hope is set to release a new performance track.
On October 21 at 1 PM KST, J-Hope will drop his latest single, 'MONA LISA'. This release comes just two weeks after his digital single 'Sweet Dreams (feat. Miguel)'.
Ahead of the release, J-Hope described 'MONA LISA' as a "performance track after a long time" through his agency, Big Hit Music. He added, "I prepared this as a gift for ARMYs who have been wanting a performance. I'm very excited as well."
J-Hope highlighted key points of the song, saying, "The lyrics are witty and easy to enjoy. There are playful elements and sound effects throughout the track. Finding these will make the listening experience more enjoyable."
Having been directly involved in the creation of the song, J-Hope shared its significance. "Initially, I thought the song was great but challenging for me to perform. However, after working on it in Los Angeles and making adjustments, it surprisingly suited me well. The overall visual concept came together naturally," he explained.
He concluded, "This song went through multiple revisions. I wanted to show a different side of J-Hope. I worked on it with joy, thinking about enjoying it with ARMY. Now that the moment has come, I'm happy. I sincerely thank and love ARMY for their trust and patience."
'MONA LISA' is a Hip hop R&B track that humorously depicts being captivated by an alluring person. It features groovy rhythms, funky chords, and a refreshing sound reminiscent of a fizzy drink. The chorus in the latter part amplifies the lively atmosphere.
The title is inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece, 'Mona Lisa', likening the praise for an enchanting person to a world-renowned artwork. J-Hope sings about how it's not external beauty but one's unique qualities that captivate hearts.
The new track showcases J-Hope's prowess as BTS's dance leader and a 'world-class' performer. In 'MONA LISA', he delivers choreography with a hip and chill vibe.
J-Hope will perform 'MONA LISA' on October 22 at 6 PM KST on Mnet Digital Studio M2's official YouTube channel, 'STUDIO CHOOM'. He will continue his solo world tour 'j-hope Tour 'HOPE ON THE STAGE'' in Mexico City at the 'Palacio de los Deportes' on October 23-24.
