Min Hee-jin, former CEO of ADOR, emphasized her role as the 'mother of NewJeans' while discussing the group's plans for the upcoming year.
In an interview on the 16th with Japan's TV Asahi and ANN Comprehensive News YouTube channel, Min elaborated on her current role within ADOR. She stated, "I am neither a producer nor a CEO at the moment. It's a vague situation with only the authority of an internal director, but I am continuing with the projects I have been working on."
Min stressed that her primary focus is on the plans she has made with NewJeans, asserting, "This dispute will be resolved one way or another. I will strive to achieve our plans to the fullest." She added, "Originally, we were planning a world tour next year and had already conceptualized the full album to be released early in the year. Who could have anticipated such events?"
She expressed her desire to resolve the current situation quickly, stating, "I am discussing with the members, but the next steps are unclear."
Min also mentioned Hani, who appeared as a witness at a national audit, saying, "Hani's mother is not in Seoul right now. Naturally, I have to play the role of her mother in Seoul. Someone needs to be a pillar of support," highlighting the strong bond she shares with the members.
Addressing rumors of 'gaslighting' NewJeans members, Min remarked, "All the mothers of NewJeans are friends of mine. Our friends are a bit younger, so we want to naturally introduce things to our children, like saying, 'Mom and Dad liked this. Give it a listen.' I have no intention of creating avatars. Our members are very unique and have distinct tastes." She further explained, "These friends might have come along well with me because we are similar, and we could meet as similar people. I chose them because I felt that connection."
