When asked about his wife's reaction to 'Gangmaegang', he said, "She said it was fun. She said, 'It will do well, it will be successful.'"
Kim Dong-wook stated, "Just because I got married during this project doesn't mean I have more affection for it. I hope every project becomes a masterpiece in my life," adding, "My mindset doesn't change. Marriage is personal, and work is work, so I always have to do my best regardless. I always hope the project I'm working on will be the most successful."
Kim Dong-wook, who surprised many with his marriage announcement without any major scandals, said, "I haven't dated much in real life. I'm mostly a homebody. I only meet people I know and go to familiar places. I don't really like going to unfamiliar places."
