On the latest episode of MBC's 'Frugal Men,' aired on the 2nd, the show featured the 'Salt Squad,' known for their frugality, as they took on the wallets of actress Choi Yoon-young and former national soccer player Kim Young-kwang.
Before the main lesson, the 'Salt Squad' participated in the Son Byung-ho game to prove their frugality, leaving behind memorable quotes like "Lighters and umbrellas are shared by everyone worldwide." Kim Jong-kook showcased his unique summer survival methods, impressing the squad with his extreme frugality. In the studio, only 'Somaengi' Jang Do-yeon expressed surprise at the frugal moments, admitting she still has a long way to go.
This episode featured actress Choi Yoon-young, known for her vibrant and versatile roles, and legendary 'big spender' former national goalkeeper Kim Young-kwang.
Choi Yoon-young, dubbed 'Heungcheongi' for her impulsive purchases, started the show with a mountain of delivery boxes, causing the 'Salt Squad' to sigh. During the two-hour unboxing session, similar items kept appearing, and even dubious products made an appearance, shocking the studio. The 'Salt Squad' couldn't hold back and shared tips on blocking tempting SNS ads with Choi, who is easily swayed by them.
Next, the show revealed the daily life of 'Mangcheongi' Kim Young-kwang, who prides himself on finding the best deals. Despite his role as a professional homemaker, taking care of his two daughters and managing the household, his wasteful habits were exposed, drawing criticism. Notably, he ignored his wife's advice to buy fewer pet supplies, opting for bulk purchases instead, saying, "Once I get scolded, it's over," earning jeers from the 'Salt Squad.'
The episode also introduced the show's signature solution, the 'Frugal Men Black Card.' However, 'Mangcheongi' Kim Young-kwang expressed unexpected satisfaction, thinking his credit card had been upgraded to black, leaving the 'Salt Squad' bewildered.
The third episode of 'Frugal Men' is set to air on Wednesday, October 9th, at 9 PM on MBC.
